I’m losing my job.
Fresh news from an hour ago: the place is closing, our jobs contracts terminated at the end of July, all the material sold to people or given to charities.

Just came back home thinking about it, weighing the pros and cons of being jobless.

Pros:
- More time for my life, especially time for my girlfriend. I missed her terribly.
- More time for other projects. Including b2, and this blog.
- Going back to living at my parents for a little while equals no rent and free food. Though I’m not sure about the latter.
- Still getting 75% of my salary for some months until I find another regular job.
- Already looking at another job opportunity which involves a new French hosting company that’s on the verge of kicking other French competitors around. If they settle an office on the island, I’ll be damned if I don’t get in.
- I only had the minimum salary anyway.
- I will do some sport.

Cons:
- Losing grip with the working rhythm. Expect me waking up at 11 and lazing around until I convince myself to do some sport.
- I’ll never find a job with coworkers as friendly and responsible, at least on this damn island.
- I won’t be able to learn more about networking computers until my own network gets bigger than just one computer. I could network the computer with a virtual hosted computer but what’s the point ?
- I’ll miss Corte, going back to Bastia with the teens looks like a regression. I’ll miss 20-something year old students.

There probably is more to it, that I’ll add later.
Overall after typing all this out, I feel very good about losing that job.
