country-specific Google?
Thanks for your interest in Google Video.
Currently, the playback feature of Google Video isn’t available in your country.
We hope to make this feature available more widely in the future, and we really appreciate your patience.
What. The. Fuck?
Since when is it required to be in the right country to view video content?
I knew about country-specific Google results (way to play along governments — and let Yahoo appear like the sole devil), but country-specific playback ability for videos that for the most part don’t have any restriction on export?
Update: for some reason, installing Google’s Web Accelerator allows one to view the videos (hat tip: Philipp Lenssen on Google Blogoscoped). Still no solution for non-Windows users besides using a proxy.
Oh well, I guess I can live without seeing Mario Unleashed or Morning Musume’s neko pose…

Ben en dehors de la Belgique pas moyen de voir les journaux télévisés de la RTBF (télévision publique francophone).
Y a pas que google qui filtre les IP par pays donc…

they don’t say why people from certain countries might not be able to watch videos, but there’s a comment form on http://video.google.com/support/bin/request.py where you can ask.

Y’a aussi http://www.fr.downloadgooglevideos.com/ qui permet d’accéder à Google Video depuis la France, sans passer par un proxy.
